C CHRIST: Take the last three letters out of the word, "Christmas" and it spells "Christ" --- and without Him, there is no Christmas. God gave the first Christmas present to the world, Christ Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
H HEART: Christmas is a heart affair. God gave out of His heart of love this unspeakable gift and He is waiting that we with our hearts believe in Christ and receive Him into our hearts. Then we can know real Christmas joy. "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith." Eph. 3:17(a).
R RULER: The Christmas story tells us that the ruler, King Herod, afraid of Jesus becoming ruler in his place, sought to destroy Him (Matt. 2:16-18). However, God took care of the babe, Jesus, and when Christ Jesus will come to earth again, He will come as a ruler. But right now He wants to be ruler in the heart of every man, woman, boy and girl.
I INN: When we think of Christmas, we think of the inn which was closed to the Lord Jesus. There was room for the great people of earth, but no room for the Son of God! The inn makes us also think of the room in our hearts. The Lord stands at our hearts door. Is the door open to Him, or is it closed? "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock ---" Rev. 3:20.
S STAR: It was a star which led the wise men to the babe (Matt. 2:1-11). So Christ as the Bright and Morning star will lead us through the darkness and make the way plain before us. As we trust Him to do this, He will guide us through this life and bring us safely home to Heaven.
T TREE: Jesus Christ was not only the first Christmas gift, but He was the first gift to be hung on a tree. 'Whom they slew and hanged on a tree." Acts 10:39. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." 1 Peter 2:24. Christ was born as a babe in order to later die upon the cross for our sins. He died to set us free from the power of sin.
M MANGER: It was in a manger that Jesus, the Son of God was laid that first Christmas day (Luke 2:7). He loved us so much that He was willing to leave all the glories of heaven and come to be born in a manger. When He came to His own, His own received Him not. (John 1:11). No room in the inn! He is still waiting for room in our hearts. Will we let Him in?
A ANGELS: They told forth the glad tidings of great joy, that Holy Night when Christ was born (Luke 2:8-14). If we are Christians, we are to tell forth the good news that Christ died on the cross, that He was buried and that He rose again. (1 Cor. 15:3,4).
S SAVIOUR: Which will it be? "Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matt. 1:21. When we receive Him as our Saviour, He will forgive all SIN : our sins. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph. 2:8,9).
