New Volunteer Testimony:
Errol Block grew up in the Main Centre area of Saskatchewan, where his father held active leadership
positions in the Mennonite Brethren Church.
Evangelist, J. J. Toews held a crusade in their area when Errol was six. He understood the gospel clearly and
responded to the altar call. Mr. Toews prayed from the pulpit,
and later his father led him to complete his faith commitment to the Lord.
His rebellion came in his teens when he was part of a rock band for a couple of
years. He never missed a Sunday in church, but felt he needed to find his own
faith. In 1976 he attended Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, SK., where Errol
recommitted his life to the Lord.
He graduated from Bethany in 1979, growing in faith and especially in earnest
study of God's Word. For the last 35 years, while working at the University of
Saskatchewan in Information Communication Technology, SaskTel and
various other positions, Errol has been studying Bible prophecy on his own
time. He has also taken courses through Koinonia Institute (a think tank for
serious believers), which is connected with the Louisiana Baptist University in
the USA. For his own use, Errol wrote a Bible commentary on Daniel, based on
his studies and other research.
Presently he is involved in leadership at Harvest Christian Fellowship. They are
connected to Life Builders in Regina.
He is married to his wife Gloria for twenty years and has 4 grandchildren.
A heart condition drove Errol to retire from his job at the university and take on
a slower pace. He has come to Western Tract Mission to volunteer. His role is
to scan our Enrichment courses into a computer, and then we can put them on
the website so that people can take the lessons online. Errol is willing to grade
the lessons too, once students start to take the lessons online.
We are excited at how this will increase our enrollment in the Bible Book
studies that we purchased from Three Hills Bible Institute back in 1993.
