New Missionaries with WTM
- Darryl Evans
"Their dedication to the Lord's work here (Las Cruces) has led to an amazing growth in the volume of lessons and decisions for Jesus that is the object of the work. The number of volunteers has increased from fewer than ten to twenty during the time they have been with us, and the volume of lessons has more than doubled to the current level of around five thousand per month.
Darryl manages the BSBM Web Site and new student enrollment and also carries on extensive correspondence with students encouraging them either by email or letter in their walk with Jesus."
- Louis F. Cowden, President of Bible Studies by Mail
"In their first years Darryl and Joan were part of a church-planting team in Santiago among the middle class. This was a real challenge but a rewarding time of ministry for them. Darryl is an evangelist at heart, and he used every venue God opened up to share the gospel."
- Tim Sandvig, long-term missionary in Chile with SIM
I was raised in a Christian home. At 18 1/2 years old, I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus. Half a year later, I went to Prince Albert, SK and attended the Covenant Bible College, which is where I met my wife Joan.
In December 1974, we were married.
We had a desire to serve the Lord fulltime, so after some years of working and four more years at Briercrest Bible College studying, we were accepted by SIM (Sudan Interior Mission). We served in Boliviaand Chile for 19 years.
Since April 2005, we have directed Bible Studies By Mail in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This ministry is the Southwest Discipleship Training Center for Source of Light Ministries.
My home church is Park Ave. Bible Church in Melfort, SK. We are currently members of Bethel Bible Fellowship in Las Cruces.
