God's Continuing Grace
in Dennis' Life

Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Edwards

God's Continuing Grace in Dennis' Life I was born out of wedlock on April 2, 1940 near Choiceland, SK. My biological mother was seventeen when I was born and at three years old I lost my father who was in the Navy. My grandparents adopted and raised me, by God's grace in a Christian home, leaving me a fine Christian heritage. I am truly grateful for their unconditional love; it was a home where Jesus Christ was placed first. Sunday School and church was a must - rain or shine! When I was thirteen I found out accidentally that I was adopted, but this was never talked about by my grandparents. I accepted this and carried on with life. My mother Wilma, her husband and children came home often until she passed away in 1965. I connected with her children and now they accept me as their half brother.

In 1963, I married a lovely Christian woman. We started farming in 1969 and established a dairy in 1972. God blessed us with two children and we were active in youth work, AWANA, Sunday School and Children's camp.

In 1993, after a battle with breast cancer, my love passed on to be with her Lord. It was a very difficult time, but God's transforming grace gave me hope, and a verse: Phil. 3:14: I press on toward the goal of the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. That hope strengthened me to look ahead and carry on because God doesn't make mistakes; he never forsakes us.

Shortly after this, a horse accident crushed my vertebrae. Lying flat on my back for eight weeks taught me humility and gave me no alternative but to look up. I had to trust God to keep my dairy going and get the spring farm work done. By God's faithfulness that was one of my best years!

In December 1994, I married a widow with four children. We had hope to face the many challenges of blended families. Five years later, breast cancer took my wife to heaven. It was another very difficult time, but I am here to praise Him for carrying me and my extended family through the rocky journey. Phil. 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."

After ten years of being by myself, God brought a praying partner into my life. We married in 2010, adding four more step children. Spending time with extended family is a real joy and I marvel at how God works in dark times to give us hidden treasures. God's amazing grace, so freely given in Jesus, gives forgiveness and freedom from sin and guilt. Continuously received, it transforms and gives strength and power through the Holy Spirit. (Eph.3:16) Humbly ask for God's transforming grace to be poured into your life; it is what God wants to hear!
