Come Join us for our WTM Family Walkathon on June 16th. If walking seems too slow or tame for you, you are welcome to jog or cycle the beautiful Meewasin Trail ahead of the rest. We start at 10 am at the Mark Jenkins Memorial tree, turning in the sponsor monies raised, and with brief opening exercises in memory of Mark, off we go with friends, chatting and praying for the mission. At noon we meet in the Kinsmen Park for a picnic barbecue and the prizes for the most monies raised are presented.
Last year we proved that we don't have to cancel for a rainy day. Some were willing to walk anyway with umbrellas. We just shortened the walking distance and ended up at the Barth's home instead of the Kinsmen, and had our picnic in their garage.
You will notice that the group was not smaller than other years.
Call the office for your Walkathon Pledge sheet, so you can get started and beat our usual top winners. In the end, we hope to raise enough money to mail our Gospel booklet to the last homes in Newfoundland which we were not able to reach last year.
Looking ahead, another important date is our Appreciation Tea on Sunday, August 26th at 3 pm. Plan to come help us rejoice over our volunteers and show them our love and appreciation.
