Christian Speakers and Singers Available for Engagements
Our Missionaries & Representatives

We would like to introduce our circle of missionaries. Some are available for Chrsitian speaking and singing engagements, and all are happy to represent our mission at any missions meeting you might be planning. We have literature display tables and powerpoints to bring to retreats or missions conferences.

Arnold Stobbe, Director of Western Tract Mission, Inc.

Arnold Stobbe, our Director, stepped into the leadership role in 1997 at a time of need, and has humbly and patiently guided this mission to a fresh period of growth. He has a gift for delegating and helping people to volunteer before they quite realize it has happened. His health and hearty laugh wins the respect of all who work with him. The staff are proud of his ability to embrace new ways like websites, email, and facebook, despite his age at 82.

Although Arnold likes to save some quality time for his dear wife, Helena, he is willing to speak to small groups of all ages. He has many good stories to share about the mission, and loves to talk about his passion to Impact all of Canada with the gospel.

Rick and Beryl Harbidge - missionaries to ethnic groups in Alberta

Rick and Beryl Harbidge live near Cayley, Alberta, in a log house they built themselves. They have a special ministry to people of various ethnic backgrounds. They are also prepared to present in your church or group meeting a workshop on how to use friendship evangelism to reach the people around you of another culture.

Rick is able to take Christian speaking engagements and Beryl sings lovely solos.

Joe and Penny Homontowski - SLM and WTM missionaries

Joe and Penny Homontowski, represent Source of Light Ministries in partnership with Western Tract Mission, and are our Official Representatives for both missions. Joe is the Assistant Director in the office, and the one to talk to about ordering Mailbox Club materials for your church's discipleship program, or mid-week children's ministry.

Penny is the Director of Discipleship, or the Mailbox Club, and supervises the Correctors that come in to grade the correspondence lessons as they come into the office. She has home-schooled their three sons, now grown, and living in the USA.

Together they have been cottage parents at a Boys Ranch, and have worked in AWANA for over 20 years with Joe being commander for 13 of those years. They work in AWANA in their home church, and help other churches to start this club program.

Joe is available to preach and report on the mission work, with powerpoints and a display table.

He also has a strong baritone voice and he sings solos - even without instrumental accompaniment when in such a situation.

Priscilla McCormick - Administrative Assistant, bookkeeper, shipper, hostess - General office missionary

Priscilla McCormick is the Administrative Assistant, bookkeeper, shipper, and hostess in the office. Her hearty laughter and energy inspires others and creates a cheerful atmosphere in the mission office. she is available as a Christian speaker to share her touching testimony to women's groups, as she has done on occasion.

Raising three lovely young ladies has its challenges, but that only adds more adventures in Priscilla's story.

Ruth Friesen - writer, web-designer, layout editor missionary

Ruth Marlene Friesen is an author in her own right, and our writer and web-designer. She also does the layout for the tracts and Reflections, and helps design the new Scripture Signs.

While she has taken on other clients to make ends meet, and is quite busy, she is willing to represent the mission too, and do some Christian speaking.

Ruth worked in children's ministry many years, was a live-in caregiver for her parents until they died, and understands tight shoestring living. Her favourite topics would be on prayer, missions, and serving God creatively and resourcefully, but she can adapt to many other subjects too.

To make arrangements for a Christian speaker or a singer, you may contact the missionaries directly,or use our Contact Form to Reach Us and initiate planning dialogue. (Select the Director, Arnold Stobbe, from the drop down menu on the form. He will forward your message to the missionary you ask about.)

Please note that each of these missionaries is trusting God for both prayer and financial support from friends like you. Sometimes things are rather lean, and some of them have had to take on other work to cover basic living costs. If you feel it is God's will for you to partner with them in ministry, they would all be most grateful!
