Johnothan Klassen was already there with a gas barbecue set up under a blue tarp, which was tied to
four trees, when Ruth Friesen and her Dad arrived. They set up the food on the tables there, and
tried to stay under the tarp, while getting the barbecue started.

When Helen Doerksen arrived, she fell to work and got that sausage cooking!

Timothy Klassen and his Dad, Ken, and older brother are done!
The participants waiting patiently in the misty rain for the sausage on a bun, some hot dogs
too! Dessert was watermelon.
 Wendell Klassen
made it! he also raised the most money!
After a bit Helen and Ruth went to count the monies raised in a car, and came back with the results
and five prizes just as it began to really rain! Arnold Stobbe, the Director quickly distributed
them, allowing for some choices, and the leftovers of the picnic were cleaned up in a hurry.
A total of $5,891.30 [update: more has come in! Now a total of $5.961.30] was raised, for which we
praise the Lord! Prizes were prepared for those who had raised the most money.
First prize - Wendell and Helen Klassen - Tickets to a Blades Game
Second prize - Arnold Stobbe - a Gift certificate to Blessings Bookstore.
Third prize - The Ken Klassen Family - an airplane flight over Saskatoon
Fourth prize - Helen Doerksen - Gift certificate to Scott Parable bookstore
Fifth -prize - Barb Jenkins - Tickets to Blades Game.
The Lord had held back the real soaking rain for the duration of our fund-raiser. Once it was over,
the rain really poured down!
