Let Us Exalt His Name

THIS people shall "show forth My praise." That, says Isaiah, is God's purpose for His ancient People, Israel, Isaiah 43:21. Peter, guided by the Holy Spirit, also uses the same expression concerning believers in Christ Jesus. We are chosen, he declares, to "show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9. Praise then is more than a mere spontaneous performance; it is God-ordained. If I fail to praise I belie my calling in Christ. "This people have I formed for Myself; they shall show forth My praise." Oh then magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His Name together.

Jesus my Savior, Shepherd, Friend
My Prophet, Priest, and King;
My Lord, my life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.
