![]() Unsealed LipsDavid, the sweet singer of Isreal, has lost his song. His fingers fall aimlessly upon the
harp strings. Praise has died upon his lips. And why? He gives his own answer, and cries, "My
sin is ever before me." For the heart that should praise there is no more sure silencer than
iniquity. Sin robs me of my joy and my peace - and these are essential to praise. But the shameful
thing is confessed and put away. Pardon is bestowed, and with it the unsealing of that silent mouth.
Hear the prayer of this now repentant soul: "O Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall show
forth Thy praise." Perhaps in confession, I too may find the peace I once enjoyed - silence
will be broken, and the song return.
