Garments of Praise

The effectiveness of praise depends upon the acceptability of the offerer. Our God despises, nay abhors, mere lip-service. Let not one of us dare to draw near with our mouth while our heart is far from Him. Praise, to reach His ear and gladden His heart, must be sanctified in him who praises. "O worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness." To trample His Courts in garments spotted by the world is to incur His grave displeasure. Those who sing in His choir must wear the apparel He appoints - the garment of salvation and the robe of righteousness. Happy thought, that such regal dress is to be had as the gift of His free grace!
