I was taught all my life about going to church. I don't remember the exact day I asked Jesus into my heart. I do know that I have grown in the Lord throughout my life, for which I thank God through His Spirit.
My younger sister and I were baptised at the same time in a High German-speaking church at Carrot River, Saskatchewan, after learning the catechism by memory. That was good for me, not that it saved me, but it helped me to grow.
I married a lovely girl in 1973 on the 18th of August. We have been through many things together, serving the Lord in many different areas of ministry, like Sunday School teacher, song leader, serving on different Boards, such as helping to start the Valley Christian Academy in the Osler area, and at Torch Trail Bible Camp for many years. Then we spent four years on staff at the camp.
Susan and I were a deacon couple at Osler Mission Chapel for five years before we went to Torch Trail. Now we are back in Osler attending and involved in our home church again.
Still able, and willing to do more, we were approached to be on the Board at Western Tract Mission. We know the impact WTM has had presenting God's Word through not only tracts, but other literature and by the website, so we decided to help out and enjoy God's blessings this way.
In I Corinthians 15:1-11 Paul preached to them, and us, of what is most important - that Christ died for us, that He was buried and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace towards me did not prove vain, as Paul also said.
I would like to be involved and get to know more about W.T.M., and meet more people in the mission and through the mission. I could say more, but I don't want to preach, so I'll call this good for now.
Together in Christ,
