It was a wonderful evening. The Derksen family had a fine program of hymns and songs, which encouraged and blessed the extra large crowd. While we had prepared for about 120 -150 people, 240 showed up to our delight.
The children of Ron and Lavonne Derksen, Rosthern, are; Heidi (16) who played piano, harp, flute and cello, and her brothers, Levi, Joshua, Jesse, Micah and Andrew. They played guitar, violins, and a harp. The family sold a CD afterwards, contributing the profits to our mission - a gift we accept with gratitude.
These children perform about 30 times a year, and do both a humble and professional job. We recommend them highly.
A powerpoint presentation shared how our mailing blitz last year had covered 10 cities in Saskatchewan with the gospel booklet, There is Hope, at a cost of $160,000. This year our goal is to raise $57,000 to reach Regina and Yorkton and all the small towns and rural areas of Saskatchewan. Over $4515 was raised in the offering. We look to the Lord to raise up the remainder through our June Walkathon and other gifts this year.
Joe Homontowski was introduced as the new Assistant to the Director, Arnold Stobbe. Prayers of dedication were offered for his ministry.
After the last package of music by the talented Derksen family, everyone was invited to pass by the dessert and coffee buffet and help themselves.
Please join us in praying fervently for the effectiveness of the gospel booklet as it goes out to many more homes. We pray for you, our dear supporters.
