God works everything out for our good and His glory. Hallelujah to His name! I was having pains in my chest off and on for three days before we were to fly to Maryland for a visit with our children at our oldest son, Darren's house for Christmas. The day we flew from Saskatoon airport, there were many delays, stressful times and running from Gate G to Gate C in the Minneapolis airport, 10 minutes before our plane was to begin boarding. Not once did I have a burning sensation in my chest or the pain down my left arm that whole day. Through all the prayers of God's people, He was holding my heart in His hands that day!
We flew into the Reagan-Washington International Airport in Washington D.C. on Thursday night, December 20th -- an hour later then scheduled -- and got to Darren's house at 2 a.m.
On Friday, after lunch we went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries in the house before David and Daniel came the next day. The pain began at about noon and again I thought it was associated with my asthma or heartburn. While in Wal-Mart the pain started to get worse and by the time we paid for the groceries and got home, I knew I needed to get to Emergency. I praise the Lord for His watch-care over me and getting me to the hospital in time to save my heart from any damage.
One of my arteries was 100% blocked and I was life-flighted out of Hagerstown, Maryland to Baltimore where they put a stent in by way of my right leg.
The Baltimore hospital has a program to help those without insurance and they said they would cover the whole bill, which will probably be about $100,000. The helicopter bill was reduced from $11,000 to $2,200. The Hagerstown hospital says their program will cover 60% of the $2,000 bill, and we are still waiting for the doctors' bills. So far we have had $3,250 given toward medical bills. We are praising the Lord for His provision.
God is not finished with me yet and I will continue to serve Him with my life until He is! Our God is an Awesome God! 2 Cor:12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
