In the world of sports a lot of time and disciplined training must take place so they can win. The top prize is being the best inthe league.
In the world of Olympics the ultimate reward is to win the gold medal. Many buy lottery tickets, all their lives hoping to be rewarded with a pile of money. But there is no greater reward than that which we will have in this life, and for all eternity, than that of serving Jesus.
The invitaiton from Jesus is open to every person in the world to come to Him for salvation and to be qualified for this great reward. Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
To be yoked together with Jesus Christ you must receive Him as Saviour and Lord. Then all your sins will be forgiven and you will be adopted into the family of God. He will supply all of your needs and you will find rest for your soul. You will have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Gal. 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."
What a privilege it is for us to be yoked together with Christ to bring the message of salvation to the people in our neighbourhood and to the rest of the world, and the joy to see these people becoming part of the family of God. James 5:20, “...He who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”
Daniel 12:3 says, “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
I trust our desire will be like that of the apostle Paul in Phil. 3:14, “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." And in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Rev.2:10 “...Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
