After my Dad died, I spent many weeks packing up, preparing for the estate auction, and moving to a wee little house in the city. Friends did help from time to time, yet most of this work fell on me. It looked like I would not get my things out of the house before the auction.
When my good new neighbour Joe came to bring the upright freezer out of the basement and load it onto his trailer, we needed an extra man. I ran next door and asked Larry, my former neighbour, to come help. He did. He also saw how much I still needed to get out of the basement.
The next day when I returned for more cleaning and another car-load, weary and sighing for a moving truck or trailer, Larry made me an offer. He would loan me his used 7 x 14' covered construction trailer. When I had filled it, he would bring it to the city for me. I knew then that God had heard my sigh as a prayer. It took me three days to fill it; Larry brought it to my back yard. It was another week or so before I had it empty, but all at no charge. Many times I was aware of God's help, but this instance stands out in my memory as very special.
