We are planning our first city-wide gospel mailing blitz! The Saskatoon Blitz is a plan to get gospel literature out to every home in the city. That is about 88,000 homes, or 250,000 people.
With Impact Canada, our Tract Clubs have been systematically doing bulk mailings of a handful of tracts to every home in all the small towns, villages, and rural parts of Canada for the past ten years. We started in Newfoundland, and have worked our way across Canada to Northern and Central B.C. Now it is time to reach the cities too. We want to start with our home city, Saskatoon, this fall.
We need to raise funds for the printing of a 16 page gospel booklet with articles and stories for all ages and various types of people. It will cost .18 each to print, and .12 each for bulk postage, so our plan is to raise .30 per home to reach all of Saskatoon. That is a total of $26,400.
This more thorough campaign is much less expensive than a Graham Crusade, or buying radio and TV time, but we recognize the effectiveness will still depend on how much prayer saturation happens before-hand. We NEED you to pray for Saskatoon, and for hearts and minds to be ready to read and receive the gospel when they get it in the mail.
D. Blackmore of Every Home for Christ has said that in the early 1990s, 12 churches in two Canadian cities went door to door with gospel literature. Five churches in each city made it a real prayer concern; one church in each city did not. The result? The ten churches that prayed had only 2% rejection at the doors. The two churches that didn't had 48% rejections. - This motivates us to plead for your prayer support!
We will provide updates on our progress in Reflections (quarterly), but we also issue a monthly Praise & Prayer Report by email and by mail to about 700 homes. We would be happy to have you subscribe for free so that you can follow what is happening, and know how to pray well.
