Nellie Talbot wrote a little song years ago that used to be very popular with children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. It went like this;
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, To shine for Him each day;
In every way try to please Him, At home, at school, at play.
The chorus ended with an emphatic vow, I'll be a sunbeam for Him!
Do you really want to shine for Jesus and please Him? How are you doing it? Do you need some ideas for more ways?
Tracts make delightful little reflected sunbeams wherever they go. They talk of Jesus, encourage people, and guide them to look up to Heaven. So, if you hand out tracts to people, you are handing out little sunbeams. That would really please Jesus! It would make you a sunbeam too; it doesn't matter whether you are a child or a teen or an adult.
Sometimes you get a chance to verbally recommend Jesus to another friend or a friendly stranger. If you sense they are open to talking about Jesus, go ahead, bring Him up in your conversation. If you see more interest - go a little further. Ask if they know Jesus personally. If not, ask if you could introduce them to Jesus. See? You can be a sunbeam wherever you are!
You could also order some tracts from Western Tract Mission, and pass them out, tuck them into greeting cards, or give one to a friend, saying cheerfully, "I think you will like to read this."
We have a long list of evangelical tracts, that is, tracts that explain the way to salvation in Christ Jesus. These are great for witnessing and for introducing people to Jesus. We also have some on Christian growth and how to live the Christian life. You can write to us for a free catalogue brochure of our tracts, so you can order them.
Or, you can visit our website and checkout exactly what is in the tracts, and how they look. The index is HERE Some are only 5 cents a piece. You can easily get 10 to 20 tracts for a dollar. How many sunbeams do you think you could scatter?
