Our annual Day of Prayer took place on November 25, and went from about 9:30 in the morning until after 3:30 pm. We had pizza delivered in for the lunch. 17 people sat around a circular arrangement of tables and took part.
Director, Arnold Stobbe, led the order of the day with an agenda re-arranged from the previous year, 2005.
We distributed booklets to all who wished to use them, which had the praise and prayer request items from the previous year on the left side, and on the right a blank page to write in the new requests. As a representative from each department gave a brief report, we were able to check off the requests from the previous year that God had answered, and jot down the new ones. Those who felt led, prayed aloud for the new requests and praised God for the answered ones.
This was very encouraging as we could clearly see that God was working in our mission. For example, we praised God for new Board members, and for Gail Thiessen who has agreed to edit and produce the Good News Express for kids who are taking the courses.
Between these department sections, we took time to sing songs led by the very talented baritone, Joe Homontowski.
We learned that all our tracts are online on the website now, and that people are writing from other countries asking permission to reprint or translate the tracts. We always encourage them to do so.
We rejoiced over our successful Anniversary Dessert night, and our Walkathon, and the funds that have come in. But we also prayed over each other's personal requests and burdens. It was altogether, a very blessed, precious day of prayer.
