In the early years Mr. Elliott, the founder, liked to invite a car full of workers to come on a tour of communities to distribute tracts and visit homes. They would show anyone the way to Christ who was open to the gospel. In 1939 he invited Bill and Mary Penner, and three single women to head north for nine days. They visited relatives and friends any of them had in Jackfish Lake, Fairholme, Loon Lake, Meadow Lake, Sandwith, Bournemouth and Redfield. They met some Christian workers Mr. Elliott knew, attended a wedding, and had meetings where ever they could be arranged.
Two sisters in the car stayed on longer at the Loon Lake Camp because counsellors were needed there.
Our Director, Arnold Stobbe, says Mr. Elliott made many tours like this. Jake and Dora Hoeppner, our Representives, also make trips to B.C. and the United States on similar missions.
