We were pleased to see our numbers increase for this annual Day of Prayer, including some guests
from the USA. Three men from Georgia had come to go hunting with Joe Homontowski, but they delayed
their agenda to join us for the morning.
For the opening devotional, Penny Homontowski read a collection of excellent quotations about
prayer, then Joe, with his rich and strong voice sang a moving solo, People Need the Lord.
We used the same format as in previous years. That is, we reviewed the requests presented the
previous year, noted the ones that had been answered by God, and the representative of each
department gave us new prayer requests and praise items.
Ruth Friesen had prepared pages for booklets which had the 2004 requests printed on one side, and an
opposite sheet to record the new ones. This allowed those who were inclined to make notes, to take
them home so they can continue to pray for these items.
Joe Homontowski reported for our Partnership with Source of Light, while his wife Penny reported for
the Mailbox Clubs. These were especially areas where we rejoiced at answers to all prayers in 2004.
So were these other departments;
our Fundraisers (Walkathon, and Soup & Pie Supper),
the Ethnic ministries (a report read from the Harbidges),
Reflections newsletter committee
Our Web presence
Tracts published & Impact Canada Tract Clubs
Weekly Staff prayer, Praise & Prayer monthly email & Day of Prayer
The home office
Emergency Measures Volunteers (EMV)
Public Relations & the Board
The Mailing Program, and Scripture Signs
At the end everyone present was able to share personal prayer requests, and we prayed about those
too. One request was about a need for funds for glasses, and it was granted that same day!
