When Arnold Stobbe asked me if I would consider helping with the enrichment
program, it was an answer to prayer.
My husband, Harold, and I have just recently moved to Saskatoon from the farm at Radisson, and are
in the process of retiring. Our desire was to volunteer at some form of Christian service.

I was raised in a Christian home at Greet Deer. As a child, I attended Redberry Bible Camp, where at
the age of 11, my counsellor led me in praying a prayer of repentance, and I asked Jesus into my
heart. I will never forget the peace and joy that filled my heart then, and my eagerness to share
with others.
At the age of 13 I followed the Lord in baptism at the Borden Mennonite Brethren Church, but when I
was 16, I became rebellious when my parents made me stay home on the farm to help with the pigs, as
we had no high school.
At that time Mark and Rose Gripp had evangelistic meetings in Borden, and I went forward to
rededicate my life to His service. A verse given to me then, that had a big effect, was 1 Thess.
5:24. "He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it."
I have not always been faithful, but the Lord surely has! We have had our ups and downs in farming,
and raising a family, but the Lord has always been there in the midst to give us joy, especially
when our three-year-old son drowned in a farm dugout in 1981.
Now as we look forward to retirement from active farming, we know there is still lots of things the
Lord wants us to do.
The verse we chose for our marriage was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord will all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your
paths."
I am excited about getting involved with WTM, as I remember doing the lessons around the kitchen
table in the old farmhouse. This is where I first began to memorize Scripture, and now as I get
older, His Word is getting ever more precious and exciting. It is a privilege to be able to help at
WTM to share this Word with others. Thank you.
