The Annual Membership meeting of the mission was held on February 26, 2005. 9:30 to noon in the basement meeting room.
Anna and Ken Kroeker had brought an autoharp, and a guitar, and they led us in singing. Anna also sang a solo, His Eye is on the Sparrow.
After introductions all around, and meeting two newcomers, Lynn Moen and Ray Guenther, we heard our minutes of the previous annual meeting, and the reports from the various departments. After each report, we paused and someone volunteered to pray for that particular ministry.
In the absence of the chairman and some Board members, others read their reports.
A highlight was the report by Joe Homontowski about the 6600 lbs. of new material they have brought into Western Tract Mission and are sharing with us, as they sell them on behalf of Source of Light International in the USA.
Joe and Penny spent three years raising their support and are glad to finally be here in Saskatoon, working as missionaries for both Source of Light, and for Western Tract Mission. They have taken charge of our Mailbox Club and correspondence courses, and shown our volunteer correctors some better ways of doing things.
Ever since Lynne Fraser went to be with the Lord, we have prayed and waited for the Lord to send us a qualified leader for this department. The answer has come in not just one, but two good workers!
Elections saw the two women Board members, whose terms were up, simply re-elected. Four Board members have left in the last year, so we are actively looking for new Board members.
At noon we adjourned to a buffet lunch, with large platters of fruit, and donuts and cinnamon buns.
- Board Secretary, Ruth Friesen
