John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
For millions of people life has no purpose or meaning. Life for them is empty.
If we were to select just one word to describe the reason for today's spiritual
vacuum it would be "brainwashing." It is a devilish determination to destroy the
truth that Jesus made available to the world. There is an elementary law of
physics that states, whenever a vacuum exists, something will rush in to fill
the space. Israel set up an idol in the form of a golden calf to fill their
emptiness.
Grant Jeffery says: "North America has publicly abandoned the Bible as the moral
anchor of our society and education. It should surprise no one that after decades
of teaching our children that there are no absolute rights and wrongs, we face
an appalling breakdown in public morality and rising levels of crime." Most of
our young people that emerge from college feel they are left to fend for themselves
in a meaningless life.
Abraham Lincoln said: "I believe that the Bible is the best gift God has given
to man. All the truths from the Saviour of the world are communicated to us
through this book."
Queen Victoria was asked by an African prince, "What is the secret of your
country's power and success?" Queen Victoria picked up the Bible on her table
and answered: "This book is the secret of England's greatness."
Jesus said: "I am the truth�." John 14:5. Jesus also said: "You shall
know the truth and the truth will set you free." John 8:32. Jesus is the answer
for a life that has no purpose, a life that is empty and meaningless, a life
that has been brainwashed, a life that is controlled by a sinful nature and the
lies of the devil.
Remember, Satan hates the Word of God because it reveals the truth about Jesus
Christ, our hope of salvation and eternal destiny. Remember, Jesus wants to set
you free, so you can stand on a solid foundation of truth as found in the Word
of God. "Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist."
Ephesians 6:14.
