Only a handful of prayer warriors were present on November 20, our annual
Saturday of prayer for the various departments of the mission.
However, two other Tract Clubs, one in Warman, SK. And one in Three Hills, AB.,
were also meeting to pray on the same day. So also were two missionary couples,
the Harbidges, and the Homontowskis.
The Lord Jesus was present, of course, just as He had promised where two or
three are gathered in His name.
Director, Arnold Stobbe, introduced our newest development. Source of Light
Ministries International, from Madison, GA. USA, is going to partner with us
starting January 2005. They are sending a trained and well-prepared couple to
develop a discipleship training ministry, and will bring along a fresh stock
of the latest editions of the Mailbox materials we use for our correspondence
courses.
We prayed for the details of the move, and for a smooth transition as we learn
to work together in this new partnership.
Other reports were given interspersed with chorus-singing led by Victor Nickel.
Each time we reviewed the requests put forth last year, and the answers we've
seen; then we heard new reports and requests.
Ruth Friesen reported on the web site ministry, and the Reflections. Lewis
Warkentin reported on the Scripture Signs. Helen Klassen reported on the mailing
programs and Impact Canada results. Some new tract clubs are forming, for which
we are very grateful.
Our fundraisers and Emergency Measures Volunteers (EMV calls) have helped us
keep our budget in the black, and to print more tracts than we had anticipated
for this year.
We read thanksgiving reports from our missionaries, and their requests, and
took personal requests from those present, then prayed earnestly for each and
every one.
A free pizza lunch was provided for those who took part. We trust though, it
is the spiritual blessings that remain the longest after a day of such work.
We felt sorry for those who didn't come.
