I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When I was four years old, we moved to Pound,
Wisconsin. I grew up going to a Baptist church there. My mom made sure that we
were in church whenever the doors were open.
At age eight I walked the aisle and made a profession of faith. Later that year
I was baptized. I stayed very active in church and sincerely enjoyed it.

After I graduated from high school, I attended Northland Baptist Bible College
in Dunbar, Wisconsin. I met my wife Penny there.
When I turned twenty, Penny and I were married. We moved to Sturgeon Bay,
Wisconsin where I worked at my uncle's grocery store. We lived there for eight
years. In that time, we helped to start a church.
After the church was running for two years, we had a week of revival meetings
with evangelist John Goetsch. In the evangelist's final sermon, he mentioned
that salvation produces a 180-degree change in our lives. I started to think
and pray about my own life, and realized that though I was active in church,
I was not living a Christian life.
Soon after the meetings, I talked with my pastor about my concerns. That night
I realized that I was religious but totally lost in God's eyes. I believed in
Christ that night and my life has been totally different. Since then, I enjoy
reading the Bible and praying like I never had before. The Christian life is a
great life!
